Welcome to the Murphy House! While visiting Oneonta, we invite you to stay at our Bed and Breakfast home.
Location:
Our charming city is nestled among the hills, directly off Interstate 88. Our bed and breakfast is located one block from Main Street , in the Walnut Street National Historic District. Guests always enjoy the old neighborhood and its architecture, the walk to Main Street cafes and shops, and our proximity to local colleges and tourist attractions.

Accommodations:
We offer two well-appointed
guest
suites that are named after people from Oneonta's history. Each suite
consists of a bedroom and a sitting room
with relaxed seating and cable tv.
- Mr. Stanton's Suite has a queen bed, a twin bed, and a private adjoining bath.
- Mrs. Hanks' Suite has a king bed, a pullout twin sleeper, and a private bath located off the hall.
The décor includes vintage chenille, old quilts, and wallpaper reminiscent of my Grandma's. Guests appreciate how comfortable our beds are and how fresh the sheets smell.
Breakfast:
Breakfast is served anytime between 7:30 and 9:30 am. And it's worth getting up for! Folks always comment on how they enjoy my cooking and the different recipes I've collected over the years. I'm pretty famous for my Monte Cristo French toast, gingerbread pancakes, and my oven omelet with an apple, ham and raisin topping. I make my bread, biscotti, and biscuits from scratch. The coffee's good, and so is the fresh fruit. My full breakfast is included in your room rate, and it's always served with a smile.
(Ask me if you'd like picnic baskets to take out for lunch, or tea and cake served in the afternoon. I am able to create such indulgences for $10-$15 per person.)
Rates:
Suites are $125 per night for single or double occupancy. A third person in a suite costs an additional $25 per night. NYS sales tax and Otsego County bed tax are added on at the current rate.
During our off-season, we offer a discount to business travelers.
Reservations:
Please telephone or email us for availability. Reservations are recommended, since we are closed occasionally for family business.
Since we don't take credit cards, people mail us a $50 per night deposit in the form of a check made out to Nancy Murphy. Upon check-out, guests pay their balance by personal check, traveler's check, or cash.

As much as we dislike ‘rules', we need to have a few:

- We cannot accommodate pets.
- We might be able to accept children under 12, circumstances permitting.
- Check-in is between 3 and 10 pm.
